Donaldson, Alfred L. A HISTORY OF THE ADIRONDACKS. NY: The Century Co., 1921. 1st edition. Two volumes, green cloth. Plum 17. The first comprehensive history of the Adirondacks, and as the Adirondack Bibliography states, "not yet superseded," and still an essential part of an Adirondack library. This copy formerly belonged to George Roberts, and bears his bookplate; a clipped signature of the author is pasted to the title page, and a two page TLS from the author to Mr. Roberts is tipped to a preliminary blank.  Various illustrations, newspaper clippings, and other materials are tipped in various places. An exceptional association copy of this important book, which should be read cover-to-cover to achieve the maximum impact. Certain to enhance any Adirondack collection. Very good.
