Marshall, George. (1904-2000). Economist, conservationist; with his brother Bob and their guide Herb Clark was one of the first “ forty-sixers,” climbing all the Adirondack peaks over 4,000 feet in height, inspiring others to do the same. TLS, 1 p., Nov. 24, 1941. To Grace Hudowalski, the first woman A 46er, ”concerning some photographs of Adirondack peaks for an article.” A chatty letter, rambling a bit, and because of their friendship it is merely signed “George” One correction in his hand. On Marshall’s letterhead, 7.25" x 10.5", clean and fine. A nice letter between two important figures in 20th century Adirondack history.
