The Lockhart Mountain Boys Bluegrass Music from Northern New York
The Lockhart Mountain Boys were born in the shadow of the mountain near Lake George that gave the band its name. They have been around for a few years, but a big change occurred in the fall of 2007 with a new band lineup. The original members - Dick Sausville on guitar, Mac Petrequin on banjo, and Bob Zink on bass - were joined by Bill Healy on mandolin and Barry Weinstein on fiddle. After a couple private engagements, they entered a studio to make their first recording, a mix of traditional and original songs. This first CD - "Down from the Mountain" - was recorded in November of 2007, and is available on this web site as well as at their shows. During the summer and fall months the Lockhart Mountain Boys maintain an active schedule of concerts and shows. The band has been a regular attraction at the Schaghticoke Fair, and their schedule has included performances in the towns of Thurman and Schroon Lake, the Washington County Fair, the Eagle Mills Fun Park, and the Thurman Fiddlers Jamboree, as well as clubs like the Moon & River Cafe in Schenectady. Check this page often for additions to their schedule. The current lineup of Dick Sausville, Mac Petrequin, Bob Zink, and Bill Healy are often joined by veteran bluegrass performer Nick Barr on fiddle, creating a vocal and instrumental group that is sure to please every traditional bluegrass fan. Don't miss this band when they visit your area!
