A work of satirical fiction on the city of New York written in biblical language, with thinly disguised references to figures such as Ulysses S. Grant and Boss Tweed. The style follows his earlier work HE NEW GOSPEL OF PEACE. The wrappers are worn and chipped at the edges, with the binding thread removed from the second volume. White was a noted American man of letters and the father of Stanford White. Good.
